HDB 2% 7 Year Fixed Rate Note Date issued : 26 Oct 2010

The Housing and Development Board ("HDB") has launched a new issue of Notes under its S$7 billion Medium Term Note ("MTN") Programme.

The issuance comprises a S$465 million, 7-year Fixed Rate Note issue with a coupon of 2.00% per annum payable semi-annually in arrear.

The HDB 2% 7 Year Fixed Rate Note to be issued will be in denominations of S$250,000 and will be offered by way of placement to investors who fall within Sections 274 and/or 275 of the Securities and Futures Act, Chapter 289 of Singapore.

Application is being made for the listing of the HDB 2% 7 Year Fixed Rate Note on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX-ST).

Admission of the HDB 2% 7 Year Fixed Rate Note to the Official List of the SGX-ST is not to be taken as an indication of the merits of HDB, its subsidiaries or the Notes.

The HDB 2% 7 Year Fixed Rate Notes will be cleared through The Central Depository (Pte) Limited. The joint lead managers are DBS Bank Ltd., The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore Branch, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore Branch and United Overseas Bank Limited.

Under HDB's MTN programme, HDB may from time to time, issue bonds (or notes) to finance its development programme and working capital requirements.

Singapore Bond investors are required to open a Central Depository Account with the Central Depository Pte. Ltd., and a trading account with appointed dealers.

Bond investors must decide on the amount to bid (in terms of percentage yield).

The appointed dealer then buys the Singapore bonds based on the amount the investor requests for.

Subscription payments may be settled up to a week after allotment.

Foreign investors must have a Singapore address to open a depository account. If there is none, a Depository Agent is required.

Singapore’s Corporate Bond Market is mainly composed of statutory board bonds, domestic bonds and non-domestic bonds open to both local and foreign investors. Corporate bonds are generally bought and traded over-the-counter.
